Upcoming and help needed

Post date: Nov 26, 2016 11:20:22 PM

So November is nearly the end and everyday I find a countdown to Christmas reminder counting down the days till Christmas followed by a countdown till the end of 2016.  Like others I weigh up what went well in 2016 and what would have been even better, and now I plan for the coming year.

So as 2016 draws its last breaths I have been set the task to plan for the future of the CFS Unite family and plan ahead.  Below is a summary of just some of the ideas and ambitions we have for 2017.

1. Meeting dates - Our Tuesday meetings are booked and will continue to be on the first Tuesday of every month from 1.30pm till 3.30pm at St John's Church. Full details of this can be found on this link. In 2017 we hope to have more guest speakers, activities and events, as well as the time to chat and drink a cuppa.

2. Coffee Mornings are back with three dates booked in currently, the first of which is in February 2017. The dates can be found on our upcoming events page along with dates for our BBQ as well.

3. Quizzes - We hope to hold 2 quizzes next year, details will follow

and be posted in our upcoming events page once we have the dates confirmed. 4. Newsletter - After a break the newsletter is being re-launched with the first issue due in January 2017. If you wish to receive this please email us and I will add you to the email list. Prefer a paper copy then let us know in your email along with your address and we will post it out to you.

5. Val's Flowers of hope - Every 3 months our members will choose a person who needs a pick me up and that person (as long as we have their details) will be sent bunch of flowers to let them know we are thinking of them and sending them something to brighten up their day.

Finally, if you can spare some time or help us in any way we would love for you to join our committee. You can do as much or as little as you can manage. Please let us know if you can help in any way.

Also please remember in February we celebrate our 6th Birthday so look out for our celebrations.

All the best and remember to keep warm.
